With a management team that is as qualified as its removal team, we are well versed in ensuring that all grades of asbestos are removed safely. We take a hands-on approach and submit all the necessary notifications, discuss the best time for work to be undertaken to ensure minimal disruption, and provide a guaranteed start and completion date.
Problems are pre-empted where possible to avoid unnecessary delays and to ensure that the customer’s best interests are paramount throughout the contractual process.
We visit your premises to survey problem areas as soon as is practical - often within 24 hours, and offer advice on legal regulations and any health and safety risks. Once instructed, we submit all the necessary notifications to ensure requirements are met. Work is undertaken by fully qualified Independent personnel, with the minimum of disruption.
All asbestos is removed under strict and controlled working conditions, sealed and loaded on to our specially designed vehicles and transported to a licensed asbestos waste site.
We undertake remedial work to encapsulate and/or repair areas where it is not practical, or necessary, to remove asbestos, making safe areas that could allow asbestos particles to pass through a small gap, such as that created in a ceiling as a result of electrical works.
As asbestos dust consists of millions of fibres that cannot be detected with the naked eye, we ensure the most minute gap is fully encapsulated to avoid asbestos dust permeating the building.
Consulting with our customers is essential in determining the best course of action. Immediate requirements are balanced with future plans to provide a risk assessment and proactive management plan that is both safe and achievable. There are two distinct survey options, each regulated and designed for different needs, here we give a brief summary:
Management Survey
Previously known as a Type 2 asbestos survey and more commonly used as it provides an asbestos management plan that can be followed by the ‘duty holder’, this survey is generally non-intrusive, except for small areas of investigative openings. It provides an official risk assessment on the location, condition and recommended action of known asbestos areas.
Refurbishment & Demolition Survey
Previously known as a Type 3 asbestos survey; should you need to know whether asbestos is present in any part of a building prior to refurbishment or demolition, then the R & D survey is required. The survey involves investigation into every wall, ceiling and floor of the building, as well as the lagging of service pipes etc. The very nature of this survey means it is intrusive.
We complete all necessary premises registrations and consignment notes to ensure full compliance with Environment Agency requirements. The asbestos is then fully sealed in regulation bags or packaging and transported in sealed vehicles or enclosed skips to registered Hazardous Waste sites.
Our building services facilitate completion by replacing walls, ceilings, floors and door panels, and re-lagging service pipes etc. as part of the asbestos removal project. This is particularly valuable when work needs to be completed in a short time-frame or out-of-hours. All re-instatement and re-insulation work is undertaken by our experienced building team and built to stand the test-of-time.
We understand that the presence of asbestos can be a sensitive issue and therefore our branding is deliberately discreet to avoid undue attention
